Hello everyone,

A heads up - The RIT table tennis club is planning to get some tournament
action going in Rochester!

The club is planning to have a tournament on Sat, Mar 31and Sun, Apr 1 at
the RIT Gordon Field House, starting at 1:30pm on both days . The entry fee
is $10 for each day. This is part of the club’s annual fundraising
activities. The RIT club plans to involve itself in more regional
competitions and has sucessfully applied to change its status and that of
the sport of Table Tennis at RIT to a competitive sports club level in
2018-19. The funds raised will go toward equipment and competition apparel.

The first day (Sat the 31st) the plan is to have at least three Giant Round
Robin groups of maximum 8 players each.

The next day (Sun Apr 1) the event will be an open tournament with initial
round robin followed by a single elimination bracket. Everyone advances out
of the initial RR. The top 2 to the main elimination bracket and the other
two to the consolation bracket.

So, there should be plenty of matches to play! This is not a USATT rating
tournament and you do not need to have a USATT membership to play.

Amazon gift cards are being sponsored for the winners, stay tuned for more
details, and a flyer! Send me a line indicating your interest in
participating, please include if you are interested in the Sat event, the
Sun event or both.

Regards,
Burair
