Hello everyone,
Last night we completed our second round of tryouts for this year's classic

down to points to determine the top 2 spots. With that said, we have our 8
spots filled.
Congratulations to the following who have made the cut.
Adam Johnson
Ishaq Kothari
Jacob Shmois
Kevin Johnson
Pruthvik Ar
Randy Bittner
Ta-Min Chang
Vadim Feygin
If you see any of these individuals please congratulate them.

What's Next?
- Next Tuesday (9/24) all the one men will gather and we will
select teams using a draft.
- Feel free to come and PRACTICE as all tables will be available
for open play.
- League play begins on 10/1. I will work on generating all teams,
schedule, and updating the website as soon as we have our teams drafted. It
will all be posted on the GVTTC website and I will communicate that when it
is ready.
- 2019/2020 league rules are here: If you are a new classic league
member, PLEASE take a moment to read the rules here; especially on how to
find your own SUB should you need to miss a week. You are responsible for
finding your own subs. Everyone else, please take a moment to see below on
the new rule on lets, start time and how doubles should be treated.
League Rules

1 - New Let Rule
16) Let Rule - A ball rolling behind you during a point is not a let. It may
be a
reason to wait before beginning a point. If the ball behind you is truly
distracting,
your opponent can offer you a let but it is their decision to honor the let
or not. If
a ball rolls between you and the table during a point, that is considered a
let and
the point should be played over. A ball or adjacent player that interferes
with
your ability to play the shot is a let. A let may not be called after the
point has
been played. Seeing a ball off to the side of a table is not a let. If a
ball hits you
during a point, that is a let.
2 - Start Time and Doubles
2) ALL matches must complete by 10 PM. Team league matches may begin at
6:15 PM. Ladder matches may begin at 6:00 PM. All league matches must begin
by 6:15 - mandatory. All players must be in the building by 7:15 PM for team
matches. All players who are NOT in the building by 7:15 PM may default
their
peer match at their opponent's discretion. After that, all matches will be
defaulted
by 7:45 PM, at the opponent's discretion. If there are TWO remaining matches
at
9:15 PM, they must be played as 3 out of 5. If there is ONE remaining match
at
9:30, it must be played as 3 out of 5. Any unfinished matches at end of
evening
will be decided by the majority of games won (even if it's 1-0!) when play
stops. If
players are, for example, at 2-2 in games, the win goes to the player who
first
reached a majority of odd number of games (in this example, 2-1). Doubles
should be considered to be the last match of the evening.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Marc Maronian
GVTTC Classic League Director
