All,

I just received notice from Mike Johnson that as of today (3/16/2020) and until further notice, the Rochester Sports Garden has closed operations which causes a cease to open play.

In addition, and due to the NY Health Departments recent mandates which include closing gyms and restaurants, we are cancelling both the League Banquet and Bob Brickell Memorial Tournament. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing this behind us.

Sincerely,
Andre Maronian
President GVTTC

> With the rapid escalation of the Coronavirus and its impact on our daily lives, we want to remind everyone that first and foremost, our responsibility is for the safety of our players and members. We have been monitoring guidance from many resources - federal, state and local. We’re also monitoring decisions by other scholastic groups as they obviously affect the daily routine of our shared families. The strive is to be compliant and cooperative with all agencies.
>
> In accordance with the department of health recommendations on eliminating gatherings of 50 or more people, GVTTC shall adhere to this policy effective immediately. Until further notice, all GVTTC league play will be suspended but will allow for open play in accordance with Rochester Sports Garden policy and practices. Obviously the space is already rented by the club so if RSG is open you can use it. To be clear, if you attend open play GVTTC takes the position that you are attending on your own free will and not through any required league rules. Basically, with all due respect, you’re on your own.
>
> If you choose to show up for open play, we highly recommend that you refrain from hand shakes and simply wish your opponent a good match verbally. Avoid contact and I’d also recommend bringing and using a personal hand sanitizer. Remember, the ball is plastic and that goes back and forth many times when serving and can be even more of a challenge.

> Rochester Sports Garden communicated the following to me yesterday.
> We have started intensifying our disinfecting regiment and have added an electrostatic disinfectant sprayer to the regiment. High touch surfaces will be getting disinfected at least once daily and often more often. We are adding a handwashing station, and we are posting awareness signage.
> At this time there is still a low risk in Monroe County but due to the escalating situation, we will be holding events without spectators starting Sunday, March 15th.
>
> We are asking players to suspend after game high five and or handshakes. A verbal good game is still a good option.
>

>
> So, open play will consist of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during normal times but is subject to change consistent with Rochester Sports Garden ongoing adjustments to facility use.

> At this time, both the banquet and Bob Brickell tournament are still a go but are subject to change as we continue to monitor the situation.
>
> We look forward to our clubs community participation in helping get us back to hitting balls soon.
