[gvttc general] GVTTC - Tryouts this Tuesday - PLEASE READ

Hello everyone,

 

Next Tuesday night, September 7th, we will have our first round of classic
league tryouts.   We have a total of 13 players registered to tryout for
only 1 spot this year.

 

Here is the final list of participants that will be competing based on
emails I have received.

Format (Subject to Change)

I am going to have 3 groups total (2 groups of 4 and 1 group of 5).

Each group will play in a round robin format.

Each match will be best of 5 games.

Each group will have 2 assigned tables.  I plan on using 6 of the 8 tables
assigned.  The extra 2 tables can be used for practice for everyone anyone
else that would like to come and practice.  

The top two from each group will advance to next week for the final week of
tryouts.

** Depending on how many spots we have, I may take top 2 spots and third
place goes on to play more matches.  I have done this before in the past.
Plan on playing at least 3 matches.  You may play a couple more depending on
how I format this.

 

Play

Play will begin SHARP at 6:30 PM.  Please come early to practice and warm
up.

There will be an order of play.  If you are late and you have a scheduled
match, that match will be forfeited to keep play continuous.

Before your scheduled match, please keep to a 2 minute warmup before
starting your match.

If you come to practice and you see a table is in use by others that are not
trying out, you have priority to take that table as this is your night to
tryout.
