They were more than accommodating to our needs for our very first tournament. As you all know, it’s virtually impossible to account for every challenge prior to arrival. We appreciate each of your patience on Saturday as we adjusted table layout to accommodate for the lighting/glare. It was much better with that shift. Next time, we’ll be covering all four windows which should remove any glare at all.

A Few To Thank

1) The Brickell Family - Thanks to the Brickell family for allowing us to honor Bob in the exact way he used to run those fantastic tournaments at Irondiquoit high school for many years. We had an event staff of many with computers and I’m still scratching my head as to how Bob pulled all of it off with only paper and by himself in many cases. WOW!!!! Thanks to Tom Brickell for participating as a player in the event as well.

2) Bishop Kearney HighSchool - Thanks to Steve Saluzzo, President and staff at BK. We appreciate their vision and support of Table Tennis, the GVTTC and the USATT (United States Table Tennis Association). We look forward to a long lasting relationship. Bishop Kearney is a Golisano Education Partner private school that can be a great option for those you love. SORRY IN ADVANCE) Daquanne Dwight (result entry), Marc Maronian (draws), Roger Haidvogal (registration), Dan Emord (setup), Oded Kalir (truck), Jack Mould (breakdown), David Freeman (umpire), Saher Al Ghazi (breakdown), The Krons (setup), Horace Byfield (pictures) and the entire GVTTC Executive Committee that met every week for over a month to plan and implement a successful event.

4) Out of Town Players - We don’t take lightly the commitment you make to show up to our local event with added expense and travel. Thank you for coming in and providing a different look for a lot of our local players. We ask that you show your satisfaction by spreading the word as to how your experience was at a Rochester, NY tournament.

5) Local Players - Thanks for supporting your club and bringing your A game. You’re all committed to leagues and more so to play in a tournament is an added expense. A tournament is a true gage as to how well your practice/leagues have worked out. I always say, it doesn’t matter how well you do in open play and even league play. It’s true USATT tournament experience that is an environment that brings the best out of everyone. Some people need a tournament or two before they can adjust to those intense conditions.

6) USATT - Thanks to Gordon Kaye and his staff for all the support they provided us on a local level as well as all they do at the home office to expand this exciting sport. The GVTTC is looking forward to a strong locked arm relationship with USATT to grow the registration numbers for the top played sport in the world. Ironically, table tennis is the most played sport in the world but is one of the least organized with respect to ratio of organized players (registered to a national organization) compared to actual players. With outward effort by our GVTTC, we intend to considerably increase these ratios in the north east. So much more to do!!!

Results/Videos/and More ….

For those on Facebook, we already have and will be posting everything on our Bob Brickell Giant Round Robin page.
