<html><head></head><body><div class="ydpeab29bf9yahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><div id="ydpeab29bf9yiv5914302889"><div><div class="ydpeab29bf9yiv5914302889yahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family:Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;"><div dir="ltr">To the GVTTC members and the table tennis community. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">All of this is old news by now, but I have to mention the passing of two local legends of the game, ones who made a huge impact in Rochester and upstate New York. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Perhaps most shocking is the death of Buffalo's Jim Dixon, who died on October 9, 2018 at 70-years-old. Thanks to his brother-in-law, David Harrison, himself an accomplished player out of Buffalo, I received the news which had been sent to the GVTTC soon after his passing. My own career change has made it difficult to continue writing about Rochester's table tennis history, but Dixon, an incredible athlete who went on to win two National Intercollegiate titles, deserves futher mention, and will get it. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">On a very sad note, Konnie Maciulis passed away in May. It was Konnie, along with Vytas Grybauskas, who became Rohester's greatest doubles duo of the 1950s, but their contribution was how they both organized and inspired a large contingent of Lithuanians to play in our tournaments during the 50s. Even after his 90th birthday, he never lost his zeal for the game he could no longer play, and both he and his family provided me with photos and his very interesting life story that is yet to be told. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">On thing is certain, both Jim and Konnie will be first selections for the legends version of our GVTTC Hall of Fame.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Sincerely,</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Dave Hunt</div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
