Respect to all those that served in the past and we’re grateful for their contribution to what the club has been able to achieve over that timeframe. There are many that served that are no longer with us today but their memory lives on. That said, it’s time to grow the club in a manner consistent with other successful clubs around the country.

Our Theme: Grow The Club

GVTTC has brought on AJ Carney to help with the “Grow The Club” initiative from someone that has already been documented to have helped grow Triangle Table Tennis club in North Carolina to numbers that exceed us in only a few years. By adopting this model with appropriate adjustments, our club should be able to flourish and grow as a true force in our region developing top players and strong outreach to youth and new players to the sport. Remember, table tennis is the most played sport in the world yet one of the least organized sports in the world. We’re looking to do our part to change that.

We're putting a lot of faith in a homegrown table tennis hero that has real club managerial experience to help us Grow The Club once and for all. This includes much more than being our Director of Coaches. AJ will be leading outreach to youth, schools, companies and more to help get us the exposure we need. AJ is managing many operations of the club on a part time basis and we hope to bring him on full time over time. AJ will also be developing a group of coaches all centered around this high level “Grow The Club” initiative which will continue to create improvement across the base. That said, it’s important to note that GVTTC is formalizing a coaching program around AJ’s direction that will give approved coaches the ability to train a consistent message within our facilities and be part of a larger coaching initiative like camps and group sessions organized by GVTTC. AJ Carney will be leading and deciding all aspects of these efforts. Recently, the board voted in favor that we have faith in AJ’s ability to help “Grow The Club” and the last thing we want to do is get in the way of an expert. That said, you can expect some changes in how we run certain aspects of the club but feel comfortable that we won’t be changing the important foundations that make GVTTC what we are. At this point, no price changes nor adjustments to current leagues are expected. This has more to do with new initiatives on top of what we all know and love.

GVTTC Coaches Wanted: If anyone is interested in becoming an approved/certified GVTTC coach, AJ is offering a free introductory coaching coarse this Saturday from 1pm -3pm at Rochester Sports Garden.
