I thought many of you would like to read it. Back in 1994, three teams from Rochester went to the USA Team Tournament that was hosted in Detroit each year. A member of each team took the time to summarize the results in a document that was passed around the club.</div><div class="">Thanks to Dave, we now have our hands on this and it brought back some amazing memories and reminded us of some of our favorite players. Keep in mind, back then we played best of 3 and games to 21 where each player served 5 in a row.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Team 1</div><div class="">--------------</div><div class="">Bob Brickell (nobody ever liked playing him … short and long pips … ugh)</div><div class="">Robert Maronian (strong defensive chopper with pick you apart forehand attacks)</div><div class="">Andy Barron (the human angle blocker!!!)</div><div class="">Andre Maronian (I was 21 years old …. went into the tournament rated 1716 and came out 1795)</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Team 2</div><div class=""><font color="#000000" class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="">———————</span></font></div><div class=""><font color="#000000" class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="">Dave Colt (solid all around game)</span></font></div><div class=""><font color="#000000" class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="">DJ Colt (was rated over 2000 going into it … probably around 16 years old or so?)</span></font></div><div class=""><font color="#000000" class="">Lucas Colt (the younger brother, didn’t say much but he gave people FITS)</font></div><div class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class=""><br class=""></span></div><div class=""><div style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="">Team 3</div><div style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class=""><font color="#000000" class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" class="">———————</span></font></div></div><div class="">Dave Jess (The windmill forehand loop)</div><div class="">Fernando Ofray (This document reminded me of him …. nice man!)</div><div class="">John Vanduersen (Long pips phantom rubber player … bugged all who played him)</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I thought I’d pass it along. Additionally, we plan on archiving as much of our history we can in a new website we’re in the middle of developing (stay tuned … it’s really coming together nicely). If you have any history, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pass it along to me so we can organize and roll it out.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Sincerely,</div><div class="">Andre Maronian</div><div class=""></div></body></html>
