SCEA (Sony PlayStation): Looking for a native Japanese-speaker/-writer
(foster city)

The Tools & Technology Group at SCEA is looking for a contractor who
would perform the following functions: English-to-Japanese
translation, editing/rewriting of Japanese text; translation
production work; and, translation project management.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

* Required: Native-level proficiency as a Japanese-language writer,
combined with very strong proficiency as an English-language reader.

* Required: Computer savvy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and
(ideally) TRADOS. Lack of TRADOS knowledge is not a deal-breaker if
the candidate can come up to speed quickly.

* Required: Good organizational skills, and the ability to manage
multiple ongoing projects.

* Required: Work on-site in Foster City (San Francisco Bay Area)

* Highly desirable: The ability to work with markup languages such as HTML.

* Highly desirable: Some knowledge of software engineering.

* Highly desirable: Problem-solving abilities. Always try to come to
your supervisor not only with a problem, but also a proposed solution.

* Desirable: An interest in videogames and the videogame industry.
